Kaylen Fitzpatrick

HI! I’M DR. KAYLEN FITZPATRICK, PSY.D.

I’m a licensed clinical psychologist based in South Florida, providing therapy for adults seeking meaningful, lasting change. I specialize in working with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, relationship challenges, perinatal mental health (including pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum), and major life transitions. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, overstimulated, or stuck—struggling to manage stress, quiet their thoughts, or feel like themselves again. Together, we focus on helping you regain clarity, improve communication, and build more fulfilling, connected relationships.

I work extensively with high-achieving, high-functioning individuals who experience perfectionism, self-criticism, and chronic stress. Even when things appear successful on the outside, it can feel exhausting internally. Using a results-driven, evidence-based approach, we focus on shifting unhelpful thought patterns, strengthening emotional regulation, and creating a more balanced and sustainable way of living.

My approach is integrative, relational, and tailored to your unique needs. I provide trauma-informed therapy and draw from evidence-based modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, solution-focused strategies, process-oriented work, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Our work is collaborative and focused on both insight and action—helping you not only understand your patterns, but change them.

Therapy should feel both supportive and effective. I offer a space where you can feel understood while also gaining practical tools to move forward with confidence. You don’t have to navigate this alone. Together, we’ll work to reduce emotional distress, process past experiences, and help you feel more grounded, resilient, and aligned with the life you want to live.

  • Yes. I am EMDR-trained and offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy as part of my trauma-focused treatment approach. EMDR is an evidence-based method that helps clients process and heal from distressing memories, reduce emotional triggers, and build healthier responses to stress.

Alongside EMDR, I also integrate trauma-focused and trauma-informed therapy techniques into my work. This includes helping clients process difficult memories, build emotional resilience, and develop healthy coping strategies. My approach draws from evidence-based modalities like CBT, psychodynamic therapy, and process-oriented practices to support healing and growth.

  • Absolutely. Many of our clients seek therapy for burnout, chronic stress, and emotional exhaustion related to their professional careers. We work together to identify the root causes of burnout, develop strategies for work-life balance, and build boundaries that protect your mental well-being—while also exploring any deeper patterns that contribute to feeling overwhelmed.

  • Yes. We treat perinatal and postpartum mental health, supporting individuals through challenges like postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, intrusive thoughts, birth trauma, and the emotional adjustment to parenthood.

Therapy can help you process your experiences, regulate emotions, and feel more grounded during this transition.

  • Yes. We offer secure virtual therapy sessions for clients across Florida, MissourI, New York, & PsyPact States.

Online therapy allows you to access support from the comfort of your home while still receiving high-quality, evidence-based care.

  • We are currently in-network with Aetna and UnitedHealthcare. For clients with out-of-network benefits, we can provide a superbill so you may seek reimbursement from your insurance provider.

  • I am a PSYPACT-authorized psychologist, which means I can provide telehealth therapy across multiple participating U.S. states without requiring separate licenses in each one. PSYPACT (The Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact) is an agreement that allows licensed psychologists to offer online therapy to clients located in other PSYPACT states.

If you live in a PSYPACT participating state, you can work with me via secure video sessions, even if I’m not physically located in your state. This makes it easier to access therapy when you move, travel, or live in an area with limited mental health resources.

You can check the full list of PSYPACT states here to see if you’re eligible for online therapy with me.

  • Before your first session, you’ll receive an email or text with a secure link to join via SimplePractice, our HIPAA-compliant telehealth webcam platform. You can connect from a quiet, private space using your computer, tablet, or smartphone.

During our first meeting, we’ll discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, review your history, and set goals for our work together. You’ll also have a chance to ask questions about the therapy process, scheduling, or payment. Our goal is to make your first session comfortable and supportive so you feel at ease moving forward.
